Rimigliano Natural Park

Guide: Natural Parks, Toscana

Rimigliano Natural Park – Tuscany: golden dunes, transparent sea and fragrant pine forest between San Vincenzo and Baratti. The Rimigliano Natural Park extends for over 6 kilometers along the coast between San Vincenzo and the Gulf of Baratti. It is one of the best-preserved coastal areas of the Etruscan Coast, with sandy beaches, natural dunes, coastal forests and clear waters. Perfect for those looking for sea and nature without sacrificing silence and authenticity. 🌊 Sea and free beaches in nature: The park offers direct access to the sea, with long stretches of free and wild beach, protected by dunes and vegetation. The sea is clean, with shallow and sandy bottoms, also suitable for children. The access points are simple but well organized, with parking lots, showers, drinking fountains and picnic areas. 👉 Tip: Enter through gate no. 5 to find one of the quietest stretches of beach surrounded by nature. 🌲 Coastal pine forest and summer coolness: Behind the beach there is a dense Mediterranean pine forest that offers shade, silence and coolness. A perfect place for walks, reading in the shade or family picnics. The scent of resin and sea accompanies every step among maritime pines, holm oaks and junipers. 👉 Tip: Bring a hammock or tarp and relax in the trees after bathing – an easy way to really slow down. 🌿 Dunes, biodiversity and protected environment: The park is a fragile and protected environment, with a dune system still intact where typical coastal flora grows: cuddly juniper, sea lily, helichrysum and wild rosemary. A natural heritage that makes this stretch of coast unique. 👉 Tip: Respect the vegetation and use the wooden walkways to reach the beach: every step counts in the protection of the park. 🚴 Accessible nature and slow tourism: The Rimigliano Park is easily accessible both on foot and by bike. The coastal cycle path connects San Vincenzo to Baratti, passing next to the pine forest. It is a great idea for a day of sport, sea and nature. 👉 Tip: Rent a bike in San Vincenzo and cycle to the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia: culture and nature in a single excursion. 🛏️ Where to stay: In the surroundings of the park there are farmhouses surrounded by greenery, equipped campsites, hotels by the sea and quiet B&Bs. San Vincenzo is the closest center, lively but not chaotic, while Baratti and Populonia offer a more private atmosphere. 👉 Tip: Stay along the Via della Principessa to have the pine forest on one side and the sea on the other, just a few steps from your accommodation. The Rimigliano Park is a corner of the coast where time is measured in the colors of the sky, in the scents of the pine forest and in the slow steps on the sand.
