Franciacorta Wine Route

Guide: Wine Routes, Lombardia

Franciacorta – Lombardy Wine Route: excellent bubbles, tidy vineyards and residences between the lake and the hills. The Franciacorta Wine Route winds through the heart of the province of Brescia, between Lake Iseo and the first morainic hills. A harmonious territory where the agricultural landscape blends with historic villas, monasteries and elegant villages. The hills, shaped by centuries of viticulture, offer a well-kept, orderly environment, full of charm and tradition. 🍾 The Italian Classic Method: Franciacorta is synonymous with high quality bubbles. Franciacorta DOCG is a Classic Method produced with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc grapes, aged in bottle for at least 18 months. The area also produces Satèn, Rosé, Millesimati and Riserva, each with its own characteristics that reflect the work in the vineyard and in the cellar. 👉 Tip: Book a visit to a winery between Erbusco and Adro: many offer tours of the vineyards, underground aging galleries and guided tastings overlooking the hills. 🚶 ♀️ Routes through vineyards, villages and abbeys: The road is divided into over 80 km of paths through the countryside, rows and historic centers such as Monticelli Brusati, Provaglio d'Iseo and Bornato. Walking or cycling you will discover medieval monasteries, patrician villas and open views of the lake and the hills planted with vines. 👉 Tip: Reach the Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa in Provaglio and combine the visit with a walk through the Torbiere del Sebino: the contrast between wild nature and tidy vineyards is surprising. 🍽️ Fine dining and local produce: Franciacorta gastronomy perfectly accompanies its bubbles: alpine cheeses, typical cured meats, extra virgin olive oil, grilled meats and lake dishes such as whitefish or perch. The restaurants, often inside renovated farmhouses, offer seasonal menus and studied combinations. 👉 Tip: Book a lunch in a farmhouse overlooking the vineyards: the attentive welcome and local dishes enhance the quality of the wine in a relaxing and authentic setting. 🚗 A territory to be explored calmly: La Strada is perfect for a weekend of nature, culture and wine. The route passes castles, Romanesque churches, artisan shops and direct sales points of the farms. Each stage is an opportunity to get to know one of the most prestigious wine areas in Italy up close. 👉 Tip: Start from Iseo and follow the route to the south-east: you can alternate moments of relaxation on the lake with food and wine experiences among the rows. In Franciacorta, each bottle is the result of rigorous care and a harmonious landscape, where the culture of wine is intertwined with the elegance of living well.
