Costa Paradiso

Guide: Sea & Islands, Sardegna

Costa Paradiso – Sardinia: red rocks, hidden coves and the sea that lights up the stone at sunset. The Costa Paradiso extends along the north-western stretch of Sardinia, between Isola Rossa and Santa Teresa Gallura. It is a coastline different from the others: here it is not the long sandy beaches that dominate, but cliffs sculpted by the mistral, secret coves and turquoise waters set between porphyritic rocks in warm tones. A place that amazes for its naturalness, at times almost lunar. 🪨 Red granites and marine transparencies: The landscape is a fusion of contrasting elements: jagged rocks and soft natural pools, vertical walls and small hidden shores. The sea changes color with the light, from bright turquoise to deep blue. Li Cossi, the most famous beach, is a small jewel between two rocky promontories, reachable only on foot along a panoramic path. 👉 Tip: Leave early for Li Cossi and stay until sunset: the light turns the rocks into stone flames. 🏝️ Coves, swimming pools and paths on the sea: In addition to Li Cossi, the coast is dotted with secret coves, often accessible only by sea or by steep paths: Li Tinnari, La Sorgente, Cala Faa. The natural pools formed between the rocks are ideal for those seeking tranquility, snorkeling or simply a dip between copper-colored walls and transparent water. 👉 Tip: Bring mask and fins: the rocky seabed is home to colorful fish, starfish and urchins, visible even a few meters from the shore. 🚶 Trekking and overhanging views: The Costa Paradiso is also a small paradise for those who love walking: panoramic paths run along the coast, among cistus, strawberry trees and myrtles. The routes offer breathtaking views of a sea that seems endless. Some itineraries connect beaches, others lead to cliffs where time is measured only by the wind. 👉 Tip: Walk in the morning towards Punta Li Canneddi: from there the view embraces the entire coast, up to Capo Testa. 🍽️ Seafood cuisine and Gallura accents: In the small restaurants and stone houses in the area, dishes are served that combine fresh fish, shellfish and inland influences. Octopus in garlic, fregule with squid ink, gnocchi with bottarga, seared tuna are accompanied by Vermentino di Gallura served cold. Desserts, such as seadas with hot honey, end on a high note. 👉 Tip: Dinner on the terrace with a view of Li Cossi: the sky that goes out beyond the rocks is the most sincere sight in the area. 🎶 Relaxation, nature and silence: Costa Paradiso is not nightlife, but visual and sound peace. It lives slowly, between morning swims, evening walks and intimate dinners. In summer, small musical events and craft markets enliven the area without distorting it. It is a destination for those seeking unshouted beauty, open spaces and a deep connection with nature. 👉 Tip: Bring binoculars with you: at sunset it is not uncommon to see hawks and cormorants flying over the cliffs. In Costa Paradiso you don't need to search. Just stop. The landscape does the rest, sculpting memories in the colors of the rock and the rhythm of the sea.
