Adamello Brenta Natural Park

Guide: Natural Parks, Trentino Alto Adige

Adamello Brenta Nature Park – Trentino-Alto Adige. Dolomites, alpine lakes and protected nature in the heart of Trentino. The Adamello Brenta Natural Park is the largest protected area in Trentino, located between the Brenta Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Adamello-Presanella massif. It is home to over 80 lakes, extensive forests, waterfalls, glaciers, and abundant wildlife. It is a place where nature is the protagonist and you can explore it with respect, step by step. 🦌 Authentic encounters in the wild kingdom: The park is the habitat of bears, chamois, deer, golden eagles, marmots and roe deer. The paths wind through intact environments, between centuries-old woods and high-altitude pastures. The visitor centers tell the story of biodiversity and the fragile balance of these ecosystems. 👉 Tip: Visit the "Orso" Park House in Spormaggiore to find out all about the Life Ursus project and the presence of the brown bear. 🥾 Trails and routes for all levels: From walks around the lakes to via ferratas in the Brenta Dolomites, the park offers excursions suitable for all ages. Among the most popular are the Tour of the 5 Lakes in Madonna di Campiglio and the Waterfall Path in Val Genova. 👉 Tip: Try the excursion to Lake Nambino: simple, family-friendly and with a magnificent view of the Presanella group. 🏞️ Lakes, waterfalls and iconic scenery: The park is home to postcard-perfect lakes such as Lake Tovel, Lake Valagola and Lake Molveno. Some can be reached with short walks, others with longer treks. The Nardis Waterfalls are among the most spectacular in Trentino. 👉 Tip: Reach Lake Tovel early in the morning to find peace and perfect reflections on the surface of the water. 🍽️ Refuges, alpine huts and high-altitude cuisine: Along the paths there are numerous refuges and huts where you can savor typical dishes: dumplings, polenta, alpine cheeses, game and rustic desserts. The welcome is always warm, even at high altitude. 👉 Tip: Stop at the Graffer Refuge for a lunch with a view of the Dolomites and a good plate of strangolapreti. 🛌 Overnight stays between villages and untouched nature: The resorts around the park, such as Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Stenico, Molveno and Andalo, offer hotels, B&Bs, campsites and refuges for every need. All well connected to the main paths and viewpoints. 👉 Tip: Choose accommodation in Molveno to combine relaxation on the lake and direct access to the Dolomite side of the park. The Adamello Brenta Natural Park is a place where the mountain expresses itself in all its forms: majestic, wild and surprisingly accessible.
