Trudner Horn Nature Park

Guide: Natural Parks, Trentino Alto Adige

Monte Corno Nature Park – Trentino-Alto Adige. Woods, silence and biodiversity in the Bassa Atesina. The Monte Corno Nature Park is the southernmost protected area in South Tyrol. It extends between the municipalities of Trodena and Anterivo, on an area rich in mixed forests, flowering meadows, wetlands and pastures. Here nature is preserved intact, far from mass tourism, perfect for relaxed walks and slow discoveries. 🌲 A landscape that changes with altitude: From the vineyards at the bottom of the valley, you climb towards beech, larch and spruce trees, up to the open views of the peaks. The park is home to over 60 species of wild orchids and a variety of environments that is unique in the entire Alpine arc. 👉 Tip: Stroll along the "Waldgeisterweg" theme trail near Trodena, which is also suitable for children. 🦋 Silent nature and rich biodiversity: This corner of South Tyrol is a paradise for those who love observation: butterflies, roe deer, woodpeckers, salamanders and deer inhabit its forests. Away from the crowded destinations, the park offers authentic experiences to those who know how to listen. 👉 Tip: Bring binoculars and a nature guide with you: every hike can become a discovery. 🚶 Simple and well-marked trails: The hiking routes are numerous but never extreme. From walks in the meadows of Anterivo to the panoramic paths of Monte Corno, the area is easily explored, even with children or inexperienced walkers. 👉 Tip: Go to the Kanzel viewpoint above Trodena for a sweeping view of the Adige valley. 🍽️ Simple cuisine rooted in the territory: The small restaurants and gasthof offer local dishes such as barley soups, dumplings, stews, apple pies and alpine products. The welcome is warm and familiar, often in rustic and well-kept environments. 👉 Tip: Stop at a farm to taste fresh cheeses and homemade bacon. 🛌 Discreet welcome between woods and silence: The accommodation facilities are small and surrounded by nature: B&Bs, farmhouses, apartments and traditional gasthof. Ideal for those seeking relaxation, silence and contact with the landscape. 👉 Tip: Choose accommodation in Anterivo to walk away and forget about the car for a few days. The Monte Corno Park is a natural refuge where every step invites you to calm, observe and respect the slow pace of the mountain.
